What is your Main Appliance?
As you are looking around your home what would you consider to be the main appliance? Will it be one of the major kitchen appliances or will it even be in your kitchen? I don’t know about you but there are many candidates for my main appliance and not all of them reside in the kitchen but we will start there.
The Refrigerator is a Main Appliance
Your refrigerator is major kitchen appliance that you should choose with care because not only can it be the Main Appliance it has the job to keep your food fresh and pure. Picking the best refrigerator for your purposes will require you to know what capacity is needed, your choice of styles and if you want a refrigerator freezer combination. You may also find there are many other small decisions to make and you should treat them all as though the refrigerator will be you main appliance. Without it you would have no place for safe food storage.
The Range and Oven is the Main Appliance for some People
Your cooking facilities may be the most important item for human survival so it can very easily become a main appliance. Like any major kitchen appliance there will be choices to be made when selecting your stove or range top and an oven. Sometimes the choice of Electric or Gas may be made for you based on their availability. One thing to keep in mind is that most cooks will tell you they believe gas ranges provide better control over cooking temperatures as compared to electric ranges.
For a kitchen oven it is best to first figure out what size is right to handle your cooking requirements. Also remember that an oven with a larger sized looped cooking element will provide better heating and is best suited for most baking needs. If cakes and pastries are your thing it may be that your main appliance could be a great oven.
Main Appliance or Main Appliances
In some homes the main appliance may need to be plural because the washing machine and dryer are very important. No way could any of us go back to the old way of keeping our clothes clean and ready for wear. For most people the washer and dryer selection comes down to space requirements, gas or electric, and their efficiency ratings. Also noise level may be a consideration because no one likes to hear a noisy main appliance even if it allows for clean clothes to wear.
Microwave Oven as Main Appliance
The Microwave Oven is probably high on most everyone’s list as a main appliance because of our everyday hustle and bustle type of living. Never enough time to cook a hearty meal once we get used to that ever ready microwave. Who would have ever thought you could over cook anything in a minute or two?
My Favorite Main Appliance
Even though I could live without it my main appliance is the coffee maker. My way of judging is by how often and how many times it gets put into use. No I do not run the Vacuum Cleaner every time I drink a cup of coffee so it is not even close as my main appliance.
